The south of Malta holds the oldest stones: the Hypogeum, Tarxien, Ħaġar Qim and Mnajdra, and Għar Dalam. Marsaxlokk is the fishing harbour of painted luzzu boats, and the Blue Grotto is on the cliffs nearby.
Start at the Hypogeum, drive to Ħaġar Qim and Mnajdra, take a boat into the Blue Grotto, and end with fish on the quay at Marsaxlokk.

Our advice: the Sunday market is lively but crowded; come on a weekday for quiet.
